Welcome to Boston Terrier Rescue of Greater Houston!
We are a 501(c)(3)non-profit corporation focusing primarily on the rescue, rehabilitation, and permanent rehoming of abandoned,
neglected, abused and surrendered Boston Terriers. We are extremely proud to have the first and only rescue shelter in the country
designed specifically to house homeless Boston Terriers!
Our kennel is climate-controlled, and each rescue has his/her own, individual
indoor-outdoor kennel run, complete with Kuranda bed! Thanks to our local volunteers (and the occasional out-of-town adopter/volunteer),
the rescues enjoy a lot of human contact and are all well-socialized and happy! We welcome donations of treats and fleece mats for the
rescues, or gift cards from Petco or Petsmart, to keep all of the rescues especially happy!
ABOUT US: Boston Terrier Rescue of Greater Houston, Inc. (also known as BTRGH) is comprised of a group of volunteers who tirelessly
donate their time and talents to the mission of rescuing Boston Terriers from Texas, Louisiana and sometimes Mississippi. I founded BTRGH
in the year 2000, after seeing the huge need for a Boston Terrier rescue group in our area, and in honor of our first Boston Terrier, my beloved
Winnie.
Our goal is to reduce the number of homeless, neglected and abused animals, which is an overwhelming problem in our country, and place
them into responsible, loving forever homes. We accept Boston Terriers into our program from Texas and adjacent states, many of whom
have been found as strays, are injured or abused, or are just no longer wanted by their owners. We have intake requirements for owner-
surrendered and stray dogs; however, we do not refuse any Boston Terrier because of his/her age or medical condition. All dogs who come
into our care are thoroughly examined by our veterinarians, treated for any illnesses or injuries (most commonly heartworms and broken bones);
spayed/neutered; administered all vaccinations; dewormed, bathed; and immediately placed on flea and heartworm preventative. Once they
have been treated and receive a clean bill of health, they are ready for their new home. If you are interested in adopting any of our wonderful

In memory of Winnie
August 8, 1995 ... January 21, 2005
Our website is dedicated to Winifred Toupard..... "Winnie" ...... who was my first Boston Terrier,
my friend and my inspiration. Had it not been for Winnie, there would be no Boston Terrier Rescue of
Greater Houston. At the time of her passing, Winnie's legacy included close to 300 rescued Boston Terriers.
Thank you, Winnie, for almost 10 years of unconditional love.
Your life was way too short. I miss you immensely. Love, your mom Karen
January 21, 2006 - I can't believe it's been a year. I cry for you often and will love you forever, my precious little Winnie. You were truly, truly one in a million, and you didn't deserve to leave so soon. Always in my heart, you are and will be forever. Love, your mom Karen
