Watson – crossed to the Rainbow Bridge

Date:Jan 12, 2014
Update

We are sad to report Watson passed away June 20, 2014. The hardest part of rescue (and pet ownership) is having to say goodbye. Watson came to us in rough shape in 2009. He was old, beat up, and high heartworm-positive, which meant he wasn’t exactly the most adoptable dog on the planet. But to us, he was just wonderful. Three years ago, he found a perfect home with his foster mom, Cynthia, who absolutely loved him to pieces. Sadly, Watson started going downhill about a year ago, but Cynthia continued to take exceptional care of him, bringing him regularly to vet visits, keeping him on medications and continuing to shower him with lots of love. But Watson took a turn for the worst, and was having trouble standing. Cynthia rushed him to the vet, where he was immediately put on oxygen, but there was little hope of Watson having quality of life, so the decision was made to let our sweet old man go to Heaven with all of his rescue buddies. Thank you to Cynthia for loving this little old man like one of her own, and for taking such wonderful care of him. We believe Watson was probably around 15 years old, but his golden years were just that ….. golden. R.I.P. Watson. We’ll see you at the Rainbow Bridge.
